3 Days Murchison Falls – Ziwa Rhino Santuary Photography Safari - Itinerary

Pick up in the morning and proceed for your journey to the North-Western part of the country at the beautiful Murchison Falls National Park arriving in time for lunch. After lunch you will have time to relax before proceeding to an evening game drive. Murchison falls National Park is proudly the largest conservation area in Uganda, covering a huge area of over 3,840km! The park’s name derives from the famous water of the mighty Murchison falls, which are formed as the Victoria Nile powerfully forces its way through a narrow cleft before plunging 43m down with a thunderous roar!

After breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national Park. The 3,893sq km2 park is the home to range of animals, and you will have a chance of viewing some of the parks residents including Lions, Rothschild’s Giraffes, Leuman’s Hartebeest, Cape Buffaloes, and Elephants. For the birders amongst you, these areas support the Secretary bird and the Black- chested Snake Eagle among many others. After lunch, enjoy a boat trip to the base of Murchison falls, where the Nile thunder through a small 7-meter gap plunging 43 meters into the Nile on the way to lake albert. The banks of the Nile are densely populated with crocodiles, hippopotamus, and a range of other wildlife that come to the river to drink. After the boat trip, you will do a walking safari to the top of the falls. From here you have a wonderful view and fantastic photo opportunities.

After an early breakfast, you will depart for the incredible Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. It’s unfortunately the only place left in Uganda where you can see White Rhinos in the wild. The project was introduced in 1998 as a way of trying to reintroduce Rhino populations that have become extinct during the brutal days of poaching, which is shamelessly still going on today. You will to go trekking in search of Rhinos and get to see these magnificent animals up close. You’ll also and learn aboutthe tireless conservation efforts that go into protecting them. After lunch, you will embark on our journey back to Entebbe where we’ll drop you off at your respected accommodation/Airport.
