Pick up in the morning and after a short safari briefing, proceed to Mabamba swamp, a Ramser Site situated on the edges of Lake Victoria, hidden but with many unique and special birds. Along the way, you will see the Blue-eared Starlings, chocolate Kingfishers and Red-chested Cuckoo. At the Swamp, take the boat ride to explore winding water ways home for the Black crakes, common Moorhen, the rare Shoebill and many other bird species.
After lunch you will proceed to lake Mburo national park, as we enjoy more birding on the way. On this day, we shall also get to cross the Uganda section of the Equator on our way. On arrival, we shall start picking our first birds of this vast area until sunset.

After breakfast, we start our birding/game drive in Lake Mburo national park. This park is one of the smallest national parks in Uganda and protects about 330 bird species and a variety of mammal species that includes; the Topis, Impalas, Buffaloes, Oribis, Cliffspringers, Elands, Zebras, Warthogs and Baboons among other mammals. We also look out for bird specialties that includes; the rare Shoebill Stork, Papyrus yellow and White-winged Warbler, African Finfoot, Saddle-billed Stork, Brown-chested, African Wattled and Senegal Lapwing, Red-faced, Trilling, Long-tailed(Tabora), and Caruther’s Cisticola, Greater Snipe, Spot-franked, Red-faced and Crested Barbet, Short-toed and Brown Snake-Eagle, Yellow-breasted Apalis, White-winged Black Tit, Broad-billed and Lilac-breasted Roller, Crested and Coqui Francolin among others. We will go back to the lodge for lunch, relax a bit and later in the afternoon, go for the boat cruise on Lake Mburo for yet another but different view of the wildlife. Early morning Bush walk for 2 hours to see the wildlife at a close quarter including the Zebras, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck thereafter drive heading to Mbarara with a visit to Igongo Cultural village this is more rewarding and amazing as you visit the Ankole museum. Lunch break is made at a hotel. After lunch, drive to Bwindi. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. After breakfast,you will pend the whole day at this park, you'll be treated to arguably the best national park in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a haven for birdlife and primates alike with a impressive list of 350 bird species, 310 butterfly species, 130 mammal species and several primate species - all of which are very rare. We'll be searching for rare and beautiful forest species such as Regal Sunbird, Northern Double-collared Sunbird, Ludhers Bush-shrike, Petits cuckoo-shrike, Bar-tailed Tragon, White-tailed crested-flycatcher, Purple-breasted Sunbird, Collared Apalis, Elliot’s Woodpecker, Purple-throated Cuckooshrike, Willcock’s Honeyguide, Xavier’s Greenbul, Kivu Groundthrush.

After breakfast proceed to Queen Elizabeth, for the next two days you'll kick back and relax at Uganda's most popular national park. There's a reason why it's so popular - Queen Elizabeth boasts lots of different habitats which in turn allows for not only an incredible birding experience but for amazing game viewing experience. Get ready to witness crater lakes, forested gorges, savannah plains, swamps, rivers and the beautiful Kazinga Channel - home to an abundance of wildlife. The park also has the most amount of bird species in Uganda! We promise you an unforgettable two days in Uganda's most popular park!

After breakfast we en route to Kibale Forest National Park making a short stop over at Sebitoli Forest Camp to look for some special sightings such as the Black Bee-Eater, Blue Malkoha, White-chinned Prinia, Speckled Pigeon among many more. We'll then head deep into Kibale for a short birding session and head back to the lodge to get some well earned rest.

On this day, you'll enjoy a morning birding session looking for as many birds the park has to offer. In the afternoon we'll head to Bigodi Swamp - one of the most rewarding places within the park offering beautifully colourful and responding birds such as the Shinning Blue Kingfisher, White-browed Robin-chat, Red-chested Sunbird, White-Headed Saw-wing, Tawny-flanked Prinia.

On Day 9 we'll be heading to Murchison Falls National Park. It's the largest national park in Uganda and boy does it pack a punch! It's very existence is determined by the famous Murchison Falls - the rushing waters of the River Nile forced through a narrow gorge is spectacle to behold and has been fascinating the world for centuries The park holds all of Africa's Big Five - Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and of course the Elephant which large herds gather together at the river to quench their thirst and to also take a well earned bath. It's a fantastic spot to see the formidable Nile Crocodile too, where they wait to ambush an unsuspecting character. The park is also well endowed in bird species too holding a whopping 460 bird species! With some of the highlights including the Red-throated Bee-eater, Eurasian Curlew, Black-billed Barbet, White-headed Barbet, Denham's Bustard, Black-billed BarbetSouthern and Northern Carmine Bee-Eater, Rüppell's Vulture, Lapet-faced Vulture, Silverbird, Black-billed Wood Dove. This park truly has it all!

After breakfast you will go for a morning game drive for the birding session, come back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, go for a boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’, marvel at the schools of hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also the zone of many birds, species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you may choose to continue to hike the top of the falls, where you will have the amazing view of the falls! See where the Nile -world's longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Later, return to your lodge and relax in the evening.

After breakfast you will go for a morning game drive for the birding session, come back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will transfer to Bungongo forest, have an evening birding experience, then go to the lodge for dinner & overnight.

We'll be spending our last day in the stunning Budongo Forest birding along the spectacular Royal Mile Trail. We'll be searching for three of the forest's most sought-after species: the African Dwarf Kingfisher, Rufous-crowned Eramomella and Chocolate-backed Kingfisher! We'll also be looking for any interesting forest species we may have missed previously on the tour. After a fine morning birding we'll transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe where this epic 12 Day Birding Tour will come to an end. However, chin up your now huge list will be something to marvel at - bragging rights are in order!
